Hobbies & Interests-

If there’s one thing Didier loves it’s reading. He’s never been a physically active person and ever since his childhood has found serenity in the warmth of books. He reads more than any normal person on a daily basis and can spend days in the library only going out for food and back to his dorm for the night. The reason for this is that Didier has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Contemplating the world is something he is forever passionate about and relating the insight he gets from his books with his own perception of the world is what he finds the most enjoyable. Didier is known for spending hours just thinking but this, in turn, causes him to have headaches if he does it for too long.
An alternate reason as to why he loves learning may be explained by the fact he has a massive empty gap in his memory (more on this later) that needs filling.

A B I L I T I E S-
- Talent: Didier is a very knowledgeable person. He is extremely useful in the information department. (Kind of like a human Wikipedia)
- Physical: Currently, Didier is being trained by his good friend Gideon in the art of Savate (A French, navy-based martial art)
- Magical:He can turn into a younger version of himself but has no way of controlling when he does this.
- Weaknesses: Fighting, among other things. Despite being a well versed and intelligent person, Didier tends to think too much making him a slow and vulnerable fighter to say the least. He is currently working on improving this.

P E R S O N A L I T Y-
If it wasn’t obvious by his interests and his likes, Didier is, in one word, a pensive person. Whenever he answers somebody you can be sure that he meticulously thought out his response. It is rare for him to have tongue-slips and verbal mishaps. However, Didier is not a blunt person, etiquette holds much importance in his actions and it can be said that he is a bit of a sweet talker (especially towards women). This means he is polite as can be and tries to keep a level-head even around people he dislikes. With that said, Didier is perfectly capable of letting loose, having fun and have a laughing with friends; he’s not very uptight in that regard.
It goes without saying that Didier is a pleasant person to be around and talk to. However, he isn’t without his flaws. Because Didier values his own life, he tends to be rather conservative when it comes to anything physical. Better said, it would take a lot for him to even consider throwing his life away in lieu of someone else (even a close friend). To add to that, Didier has an ‘old-man’ temperament; he despises technology and promotes the use of books for research and speaks in very refined English that sometimes comes off as pretentious (albeit totally unintentional). On the subject of speech, Didier often has a tendency to put a little too much into what he’s saying. This basically means that the information he gives, although relevant to the subject at hand, tends to be rather jarring to listen to.

B A C K G R O U N D-

Didier comes from a country, in a certain dimension, called Seufrania. This country is loosely reminiscent of 18th century France and its population is backwards(no technology). It’s a fantasy-esque dimension in which the amount of magic is strong but cannot be used in large quantities due to the instabilities it may cause. In this dimension mages need to be certified and can only practice on rare occasions and under specific conditions. Currently Seufrania is at war with another country and has barred off all entry.
Didier is the son of a noble family closely affiliated with the royal court of Seufrania, he was raised in luxury and sheltered for all of his childhood. He excelled in studies, etiquette and despite being a shy and somewhat introverted child, knew how to behave himself, often surprising guests with his good manners and elegance.
Fast forward to 18 years old. Why the leap? For reasons entirely unknown to Didier he cannot remember anything from his life in between the ages of 12 and 18. He has a black hole where those memories are. All that he remembers is waking up in a city far from Seufrania in his aunt’s house only to find out that the war had broken out in his country and he couldn’t go back inside. Devastated and confused, Didier desperately fought tooth and nail to go back inside or to get into contact with his family, he relentlessly spent a year working himself to the bone in order to find some way to get back in. His efforts, unfortunately, proved unsuccessful. After several months, nothing had changed. Seufrania was still closed off and didn’t seem like it was going to open up any time soon. Much to his grief Didier decided to put going back to Seufrania on hold and instead resolved to move on with his life and travel for a little while. That little while turned into three years of travels with no news of Seufrania opening up and very little information about why he turns into a child. Finding out about Ludus, he enrolled with the hopes of learning magic but also, find out more about the bizarre curse he has on him.

Other Notables-
-About his ‘curse’: Didier transforms into a 7 year old boy who physically looks like a younger version of him when he gets a headache. He turns back when the kid version of himself falls asleep.

It didn’t seem like something realistic, time travel. An article in the newspapers earlier that day had caught the French man’s eye; the concept of bending and controlling space-time in order to traverse centuries was something that was difficult to apprehend not to mention put into practice. Nevertheless, it had piqued his interests, which, unsurprisingly, lead to him to look into the affair. Rather than immerse himself in intelligible theories regarding man’s control over time and space on a philosophical point of view, Didier looked at the more technical and modern side to time travel. Particularly: the organization mentioned in the article.

That morning he had attempted to use the library’s computer, something that was both uncharacteristic of him and a tool completely foreign to the more traditional scholar.

Needless to say, his technological handicap forced him off of the computer in a short amount of time. In his frustration and deffeat at the hands of a man made machine, he rented out a book on time travel instead and made his way out of the library grumbling French profanities under his breath. He found a quaint spot on this cool spring day by the fountain under a tree and immediately started reading his book. An hour passed without him even realizing before he heard a familiar voice call out to him. He raised his head and met with Alec’s eyes before smiling at him and closing the book in his hands.
